About Me

My name is Bro D. Dawg, but all my good friends call me Brody.

I am a purebred English Cream Golden Retriever, an AKC CGC Obedience title holder, a certified Therapy Dog, and a canine social media superstar with over 50,000 facebook followers in 46 countries (make sure you say hi to me on Facebook, or watch my videos on YouTube).

I was born on September 22, 2014, (that makes me almost 6 years old).

My (human) Dad and I live in Granada Hill, CA (located in the San Fernando Valley area of Southern California).

My goal in life is to love as many people as I can with my smile and tail wags.

I really love small humans, so I volunteer at a local Children's Hospital as a Therapy Dog.

In my spare time, I love to go to the park with my Dad, chase squirrels (which I never am able to catch), chase tennis balls, play volley ball with a balloon, go to the beach, and help Dad rescue and train other Goldens!

Goldens

All About Goldens ..

Not many people know the differences between an English Cream and an American Golden Retriever. If we are being shown at dog shows (called conformation), the professionals know the differences, but for the majority of people, there is not much difference.  We are both very friendly and social, love to retrieve anything we can, and love the water.

Us, ECGRs are a little more healthier, live a little bit longer, are a touch smaller in size, and tend to be a little more stronger and muscular than the American Goldens.

The humans jokingly call us both 'velcro dogs' which means we like to stick very very close to our human caretakers.
What is the difference between and American Golden Retriever and an English Cream Golden Retriever?
We are very outgoing, trustworthy, and eager to please family dogs.  We love to be playful and maintain a puppysih behavior into adulthood.  If you are a little OCD about a clean house, don't worry we will help you overcome that because we shed daily, our humans call them 'love fibers' or 'golden tumble weeds' and twice a year, we really shed. After a short time you will learn to love a Golden so much, all the hair in your house becomes meaningless.

American Goldens, normaly just called Goldens, come in a range of colors from very light to a dark golden color.  Us ECGRs are all white to a sometimes a very light gold color.

On the Road with Dad!

Dad tells me it's really unusual that I get to travel with him.  He says, its really hard to get permission from all the important people, just because 'its not normally done'.  They say the red vest gets me in, almost everyplace.  But as soon as I show that I'm a good boy, and very quiet, everyone seems to be really relaxed and they ask Dad if I can come back with him next year too.

While he is working, I just lay next to him or in my crate quietly and nap most of the day.  I don't know how Dad stays awake backstage when it's so dark and cold, but he does.

It's fun when people come backstage and are so surprised to see me, even though I've been there for days.  For those who do know, they always come visit me and tell Dad about their dog at home they miss and it seems to make the traveling not quite as hard and lonely for everyone.

It's really funny, people will always ask, if I'm hungry or thirsty or need a break to go outside, but they never ask Dad the same questions.

Sometimes when nothing is going on, Dad will let me go on stage. He loves taking pictures of me in different places.

My most favorite part of traveling with Dad, of course is being with him, and helping him, but when we go to the Hotel for the night after work, all the really nice people, will leave trays and dishes outside of their hotel door with snacks for me!  It's awesome!
